GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Auburn Way South corridor between Hemlock Street Southeast and Poplar Street will get new lanes, sidewalks, lighting, bus pullouts, and drainage improvements to ease heavy congestion and boost safety. The $13 million project—backed by city, tribal, federal, and other funds—will start this week and finish in spring 2026. Auburn Reporter
- ➤ The Sound Transit Board approved King County Executive Dow Constantine as the new CEO on March 27, and he will start his role on April 1 with an annual base salary of $450,000. Interim CEO Goran Sparrman will serve until May 2 (ensuring a smooth transition) while Constantine (a Sound Transit board member since 2006) prepares to lead the agency. Auburn Examiner
