CRIME NEWS

  • Regional Animal Services of King County is investigating an animal cruelty case near Auburn after an officer found three dogs with swollen muzzles on the 1800 block of Southeast Green Valley Road—officials ask anyone with information to call case number A25-001848.  Auburn Reporter
  • Former Auburn officer Jeffrey Nelson, convicted in June 2024 for the on-duty murder of Jesse Sarey in 2019 and sentenced to 16 years and 8 months, was moved to an out-of-state prison on May 1 though he remains under state custody—officials confirmed.  Auburn Reporter

CULTURE NEWS

  • Nordic Fest returns in Auburn this Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church on H Street NE from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—the family-friendly event offers live traditional music at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., a bake sale featuring Nordic treats, a silent auction, hourly prize drawings, and membership discounts with $3 entry for adults and free admission for children 10 and under.  Auburn Examiner
