- ➤ Auburn residents can register to host the 42nd annual National Night Out on August 5 — an event that lets neighborhoods organize block parties, cookouts, and other gatherings with support from local police and city staff. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Between May 12th and May 18th, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to emergency calls in Auburn and nearby areas—incidents included a woman burned while cooking, adults with chest pain and breathing problems, an unresponsive man, a defibrillator activation, suspected opioid overdoses, and a fallen tree that downed wires. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Auburn and other Western Washington communities have signed contracts to install Flock Safety cameras that record license plate images to help police track vehicles of interest — officials say the cameras assist in finding stolen cars. The systems focus on vehicles not people — though some residents remain worried about data retention and who can access the records. KOMO News
