CRIME NEWS

  • Auburn Police arrested six juveniles on Monday afternoon, May 26 after a caller reported masked teens trying to break into a parked car at an apartment complex and a sergeant witnessed an assault at a bus stop in the Lea Hill neighborhood—all six are now at King County Juvenile Detention Center with charges pending.  Auburn Examiner
  • A 63-year-old Auburn man was arrested by Washington State Patrol on May 30 for his alleged involvement in a 2023 hit-and-run collision—police said the crash on June 24 injured a 43-year-old motorcycle rider on eastbound State Route 18.  Auburn Reporter

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sound Transit will set up a new tower crane at the garage construction site at 1st and A Streets Northwest on June 3—noise may rise—and the work will take up to three days. The crane will stay until August 2026—its lights will work at night—and the $69 million garage with about 675 stalls is planned to open in 2027.  Auburn Reporter
  • On May 27, James Webb and Bryce Beason told the City Council about Auburn's plan to keep roads in good shape using the 'State of our Streets' report — the report shows pavement conditions with a score — and they explained current and future projects for the city's 238 centerline miles of paved roads.  Auburn Reporter
