- ➤ Between June 2 and June 8, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 911 calls in Auburn, Lea Hill and Algona, including a two-vehicle collision in Auburn on June 2 at 8:47 a.m., a fence fire in Auburn on June 3 at 11:53 p.m., a confirmed death of a 102-year-old woman in Lea Hill on June 4 at 11:30 a.m., a fall injury call in Auburn on June 5 at 8:47 p.m., a vehicle fire in Lea Hill on June 6 at 2:50 p.m., a car versus bicyclist incident in Algona on June 7 at 1:11 p.m. and a dumpster fire in Auburn on June 8 at 2:39 p.m.—each event managed without further escalation— Auburn Examiner
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Kent Police arrested an Auburn man on June 9 for his role in the June 2024 murder and robbery of Kent-Meridian High School student Cristopher Zelaya—who died from a gunshot wound at Campus Park parking lot—and connected an Auburn juvenile to the investigation after his June 6 arrest on an unrelated charge. - ➤ Kent Police arrested two Auburn suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a Kent-Meridian High School student at Campus Park on June 3, and the juvenile suspect was taken by Federal Way Police on June 6 while the adult suspect was arrested by Valley SWAT and Kent Police’s Special Investigations Unit on June 9—both face charges of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.
