CRIME NEWS

➤ A fatal drive-by shooting occurred on northbound SR 167 in Auburn on Thursday evening near Ellingson Road—troopers from the Washington State Patrol blocked all lanes and are investigating the scene while searching for a red or maroon Ford Explorer from the 1990s to 1995 and a silver Subaru BRZ from 2018 to 2020 after witness reports of suspect vehicles. GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ WSDOT will start repaving the eastbound part of SR 18 on Monday, July 7 along a three-mile stretch from C Street Southwest to near the Green River. Crews will work overnight on weekdays and some weekends to resurface bridges and replace expansion joints—detour routes will be posted during all closures. Auburn Examiner
