- ➤ City of Auburn kicked off its free summer series 'Party on the Plaza' on Friday, June 27 at City Hall Plaza on 25 W. Main Street with a Taco Festival that featured food trucks, salsa dancing and free dance lessons—future events include Rock the Block on July 25 and Cheeseburger in Paradise on August 22. - ➤ Auburn will host its annual 4th of July Festival at Les Gove Park on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family-friendly event will offer rides, artisan vendors, live music including acts like Matt Baker — and free entry to the White River Valley Museum, with wristbands for unlimited rides available for $10 starting at 10 a.m. Auburn Examiner
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ State troopers said a fatal drive-by shooting occurred on June 26 near Auburn on SR 167 when they found a dead man inside a Prius near Ellingson Road in Algona at about 7:30 p.m. and detectives are working on the case while asking anyone with information or video footage to call 911. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The City of Auburn will hold a blood drive on Tuesday, July 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City Hall (25 W. Main Street) in partnership with Bloodworks Northwest to help meet a critical shortage at local hospitals. Donors will get a cookie and a chance to win a pet-friendly getaway along with a custom portrait by local artist Henry. Auburn Examiner
