Negotiators from SPEEA began Boeing contract talks on Tuesday in Seattle-area locations, meeting regularly until Boeing offers a deal to 13,000 engineers and 4,000 technical workers (most in the Puget Sound region).
The union said talks address quality and culture issues.

Drivers in Auburn and across the region face a 2% gas tax increase today — the rate rising from 55.4 to 56.5 cents per gallon.
The additional revenue is expected to generate about $250 million for transportation projects.
