🏛️ Government
King County Council approved a ‘Welcoming King County’ motion — to strengthen legal, social and structural protections for immigrants and refugees by limiting federal immigration enforcement.
The measure, co-sponsored by Councilmembers Teresa Mosqueda, Jorge L. Barón and Rod Dembowski, will also boost staffing and public education for immigrant communities in South King County including Burien, SeaTac, Kent, Tukwila and Des Moines — supporting local residents in face of heightened federal actions.
