- ➤ On Aug. 3, a Washington State Patrol airplane known as ‘Smokey’ spotted a motorcycle speeding at 96 mph in a 60 mph zone on SR 167 in Auburn and troopers chased the rider through Auburn, Federal Way, and Lake Tapps — a suspect was later arrested for DUI and attempting to elude police while the bike was seized as evidence.
