ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Between July 28th and August 3rd, VRFA firefighters in Auburn answered calls for a brush fire on July 28th, a motorcycle accident on July 29th, a trash fire on August 1st, and aid calls when a juvenile suffered cardiac arrest on July 31st, a woman choked on steak on August 2nd, and a woman hurt her hip on August 3rd—each patient was given help on scene or taken to a local hospital. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Early results from the Aug. 5 primary show that Auburn Mayor Nancy Backus leads with 58.65 percent while Councilmember Yolanda Trout, Brian Lott, and incumbent Lisa Stirgus are ahead in their races. King County results also reveal longtime Councilman Pete von Reichbauer won 59.75 percent and voters approved the King County Parks Levy at 70.09 percent — setting up a competitive King County Executive race in November.
