- ➤ Auburn’s Police Advisory Committee met on Aug. 11 with Police Chief Mark Caillier and community members to discuss concerns over the handling of the 2019 shooting of Jesse Sarey and propose changes like a restorative justice process and new leave policies. The committee has helped bring new safety measures—such as posting 911 complaints and training on non-lethal restraint devices—to boost local trust in law enforcement. Auburn Reporter
