CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Since appointing a full-time retail theft prosecutor in 2022, the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has seen filings jump from 52 cases in 2021 to 142 through June 2025—driven by a temporary deputy funded by a state grant—with the rise attributed to more dedicated prosecuting resources rather than increased referrals. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Auburn Police remind drivers to slow down and stop for school buses ahead of the school year starting September 3 — state law requires that vehicles on two-lane roads and those following the bus on multi-lane roads stop when lights are flashing.
